Dhaka, 1 October :
President Md. Abdul Hamid has given the following message on the occasion of the National Productivity Day–2017.
“I am delighted to know that National Productivity Organisation (NPO) is going to observe the National Productivity Day throughout the country on 2nd October.
There is no alternative to increase productivity for economic stability, sustainable development and growth. Productivity plays a vital role in developing standard of living of people along with the socio-economic development of a country. Therefore, I believe, it is inevitable to increase productivity at all sectors of the economy. The process of globalization has created a tough competition in commercial venture of products and services. In this competitive world, it is important to ensure optimum quality of goods and services for sustainable development. In this regard, NPO has been implementing various training programmes & awareness campaigns for improvement of productivity in different organizations of agricultural, industrial and service sectors.
Bangladesh has embarked upon a remarkable journey towards development and prosperity along with attaining just and equitable society due to manifold pragmatic and welfare activities taken by the Government. For this, on the one hand the per capita income, standard of living, life expectancy etc. has been increasing and on the other the rate of poverty has gradually been decreasing. The Government has set `Vision 2021′ and `Vision 2041′ in order to transform Bangladesh into a prosperous and developed country. Apart from implementing Visions, the Government is pledge-bound to materialize the targets of Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. To achieve these goals, it is essential to accelerate the development paces along with increasing productivity. I believe that the observance of the National Productivity Day will play a supportive role in this regard. It is also important to come forward with a view to increasing productivity both from owners and workers, officials and staff and NPO.
I wish the observance of the National Productivity Day–2017 a grand success.
Khoda Hafez, May Bangladesh Live Forever.”
